Welcome to the New ToasterHeaven

I’ve decided to make the first post to the new site a quick Q&A for your benefit.

Are you too good for your home?
I had many good years on the old site. There were lots of fun archives from the golden days of toasty blogging. But that time has passed and it is time for something new.

Why ToasterHeaven anyway? What does it mean?
Well, originally it referred to my home office in Arlington, TX where many old white-box computers and network appliances (we called them toasters) went to die. It was a technological graveyard. I originally bought the domain to connect to my home office from remote worksites. And then it became a blog.

What is a blog called ToasterHeaven supposed to be about?
ToasterHeaven as a blog over the years evolved into something more. Technology was still part of it, but in a larger sense it was about the fleeting things (toasters) and the lasting things (heaven). I ranted and raved about music, media, food, religion, family, pop-philosophy, and nostalgia among other things.

So, what’s your big idea for the new site, Mr. Smartypants?
A lot of the old elements will still be there, but I want a fresh start to make the site more focused, more readable, and more enjoyable.
